[2063] Conditioned by an external phenomenon (bahiddhā dhamma), an external phenomenon arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): conditioned by one external aggregate (khandha) … ; at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), conditioned by one primary element (mahābhūta) … ; conditioned by the base (vatthu), external aggregates [arise].
