[2217] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is invisible and non-impinging (anidassana-appaṭigha) is a condition for a phenomenon that is invisible and impinging (anidassana-sappaṭigha) by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: Relying on faith (saddhā), one gives a gift (dāna); virtue (sīla) …; the uposatha observance (uposathakamma) …; jhāna …; attainment (samāpatti) …; one gives rise to conceit (māna), grasps a view (diṭṭhi). Relying on virtue …, wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), longing (patthanā), bodily pleasure, bodily pain, food (bhojana), one gives a gift …, one causes schism in the Saṅgha.
The invisible, non-impinging aggregates (khandhā) …, faith, wisdom, lust, longing, bodily pleasure, bodily pain …, food are a condition for faith, for wisdom. (Abbreviated.) They are a condition for the path (magga), for fruition-attainment (phala-samāpatti) by decisive-support condition.
