[238] A phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought, with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), is a condition for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) by way of mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya).
Aggregates (khandhā) without applied thought, with sustained thought only, are a condition for sustained thought (vicāra) by way of mutuality condition.
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), aggregates without applied thought, with sustained thought only, are a condition for sustained thought and for the base (vatthu) by way of mutuality condition.
At the moment of rebirth-linking, applied thought (vitakka) is a condition for the base by way of mutuality condition.
