Paccanīyapaṭṭhāna

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 334

[334] A phenomenon (dhamma) with thought-conception (vitakka) and discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon with thought-conception and discursive thought and for a phenomenon without thought-conception but with mere discursive thought by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya): conascent (sahajāta) and of different moments (nānākhaṇika). Conascent: volition (cetanā) with thought-conception and discursive thought is a condition for the associated aggregates (khandha) and for thought-conception by kamma condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), volition with thought-conception and discursive thought is a condition for the associated aggregates and for thought-conception by kamma condition. Of different moments: volition with thought-conception and discursive thought is a condition for the resultant (vipāka) aggregates with thought-conception and discursive thought and for thought-conception by kamma condition.
