[368] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition, by absorption condition (jhāna-paccaya), for a phenomenon without thought but with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta) and for a phenomenon without thought and without examination. Examination (vicāra) is a condition, by absorption condition, for the aggregates without thought but with examination only and for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi-kkhaṇa), examination is a condition, by absorption condition, for the aggregates without thought but with examination only and for forms produced by kamma (kaṭattā-rūpa).
