[244] A phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) is a condition, by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya), for a phenomenon without thought-conception but with only discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta dhamma) and for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition, by mutuality condition, for the aggregates (khandhā) without thought-conception but with only discursive thought and for the base (vatthu). At the moment of rebirth-linking, the base is a condition, by mutuality condition, for the aggregates without thought-conception but with only discursive thought and for discursive thought.
