[243] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon without thought-conception and with discursive thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta) by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya): discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) without thought-conception and with discursive thought only by mutuality condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), discursive thought is a condition for the aggregates without thought-conception and with discursive thought only by mutuality condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking, the base (vatthu) is a condition for the aggregates without thought-conception and with discursive thought only by mutuality condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking, the base is a condition for thought-conception (vitakka) by mutuality condition.
