[260] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon without thought-conception, with only discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), by dependence condition (nissaya-paccaya): Discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition for the aggregates that are without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, by dependence condition. The base (vatthu) is a condition for the aggregates that are without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, and for thought-conception (vitakka), by dependence condition.
