Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 394

[394] A phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) is a condition, by dissociation condition (vippayutta-paccaya), for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought — conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta), postnascent (pacchājāta). Conascent: the aggregates (khandhā) without applied thought and without sustained thought are a condition, by dissociation condition, for mind-produced matter (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); sustained thought (vicāra) is a condition, by dissociation condition, for mind-produced matter. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), the aggregates without applied thought and without sustained thought are a condition, by dissociation condition, for matter born of kamma performed (kaṭattārūpa); sustained thought is a condition, by dissociation condition, for matter born of kamma performed; the aggregates are a condition, by dissociation condition, for the base (vatthu); the base is a condition, by dissociation condition, for the aggregates; sustained thought is a condition, by dissociation condition, for the base; the base is a condition, by dissociation condition, for sustained thought. Prenascent: the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition, by dissociation condition, for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); the body base (kāyāyatana) is a condition, by dissociation condition, for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); the base is a condition, by dissociation condition, for the aggregates without applied thought and without sustained thought and for sustained thought. Postnascent: the aggregates without applied thought and without sustained thought, and sustained thought, are a condition, by dissociation condition, for this prenascent body.
