[407] A phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra dhamma) is a condition for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought by presence condition (atthi-paccaya) — conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta), postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya).
Conascent: One aggregate (khandha) without thought-conception and without discursive thought is a condition for three aggregates and for the mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by presence condition; two aggregates … Discursive thought (vicāra) is a condition for the mind-originated forms by presence condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), one aggregate without thought-conception and without discursive thought is a condition for three aggregates and for the kamma-born forms (kaṭattā-rūpa) by presence condition; the aggregates are a condition for the base (vatthu) by presence condition; the base is a condition for the aggregates by presence condition; discursive thought is a condition for the base by presence condition; the base is a condition for discursive thought by presence condition; one primary element (mahābhūta) is a condition for three primary elements by presence condition; the primary elements are a condition for the mind-originated forms and the kamma-born forms that are derivative forms (upādā-rūpa) by presence condition; external … nutriment-originated … temperature-originated … For the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), one primary element is a condition for three primary elements; the primary elements are a condition for the kamma-born forms that are derivative forms by presence condition.
Prenascent: One sees a form with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu); one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), and the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by presence condition; the eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, and the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness, by presence condition; the base is a condition for the aggregates without thought-conception and without discursive thought and for discursive thought by presence condition.
Postnascent: The aggregates without thought-conception and without discursive thought, and discursive thought, are a condition for this prenascent body by presence condition.
Edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) is a condition for this body by presence condition.
The material life faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya) is a condition for the kamma-born forms by presence condition.
