[424] A phenomenon (dhamma) with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra), a phenomenon without applied thought, with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): conascent (sahajāta), postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya).
