[457] A phenomenon (dhamma) with thought-conception (vitakka) and with discursive thought (vicāra) and a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought are a condition, by way of connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya), for a phenomenon with thought-conception and with discursive thought and for a phenomenon without thought-conception and without discursive thought.
