[488] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by rapture (pītisahagata) is a condition for a phenomenon accompanied by pleasure (sukhasahagata) by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
Having given a gift (dāna), undertaken virtue (sīla), and performed the Uposatha observance (uposathakamma) with a mind (citta) accompanied by rapture, one reviews that with a mind accompanied by pleasure.
Having emerged from jhāna accompanied by rapture, having emerged from the path (magga), having emerged from fruition (phala), one reviews that with a mind accompanied by pleasure.
Noble ones (ariyā) review, with a mind accompanied by pleasure, the abandoned defilements (kilesa) accompanied by rapture; they review the suppressed defilements; they know the defilements formerly indulged in.
With a mind accompanied by pleasure they contemplate with insight the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by rapture as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self (anattā); they relish them, they delight in them. Based on that, lust (rāga) accompanied by pleasure arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises.
Based on the aggregates accompanied by rapture, aggregates accompanied by pleasure arise.
