[916] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a root to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabbahetuka) and a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (neva-dassanena-na-bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) are a condition, by way of immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned by seeing: each preceding set of aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), together with delusion (moha), is a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for each subsequent set of aggregates accompanied by doubt.
