[946] A phenomenon (dhamma) whose roots are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development is a condition, by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya), for a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned by development and for a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development — namely, object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta) and base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: taking as object the eye … the base (vatthu), the aggregates accompanied by restlessness, and delusion, arise.
Base-prenascence: the base is a condition, by prenascence condition, for the aggregates accompanied by restlessness and for delusion.
