[945] A phenomenon (dhamma) whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya), for a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabbahetuka) and for a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development: object-prenascence (ārammaṇa-purejāta), base-prenascence (vatthu-purejāta).
Object-prenascence: with reference to the eye … the base (vatthu), the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), and delusion (moha), arise.
Base-prenascence: the base is a condition, by prenascence condition, for the aggregates accompanied by doubt and for delusion.
