[959] A phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned by mental development (bhāvanāya pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by way of kamma condition (kamma-paccaya), for a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by mental development. Volition (cetanā) with roots to be abandoned by mental development is a condition, by way of kamma condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandhā).
