[963] A phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by kamma-result condition (vipāka-paccaya), for a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development. [In both] the course of existence (pavatti) and [at] rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi). The kamma-resultant (vipāka) aggregates [are a condition] for the base (vatthu).
