[536] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) dissociated from ties (gantha-vippayutta), a phenomenon dissociated from ties arises, not by root condition (na-hetu-paccayā): dependent on a rootless (ahetuka) [phenomenon] dissociated from ties … rootless rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); dependent on the eye sense-base (cakkhāyatana) arises eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); dependent on the body sense-base (kāyāyatana) arises body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); dependent on the base (vatthu) arise the rootless aggregates (khandhā) dissociated from ties; dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā) [or] accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), and on the base, arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt [or] accompanied by restlessness. Abbreviated (saṅkhittaṃ).
