[626] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with hindrances (nīvaraṇa-sampayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with hindrances by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya):
One relishes and delights in lust (rāga); with that as object, lust, wrong view (diṭṭhi), doubt (vicikicchā), restlessness (uddhacca), and grief (domanassa) arise. One relishes and delights in wrong view; with that as object, lust, wrong view, doubt, restlessness, and grief arise. With doubt as object, doubt, wrong view, restlessness, and grief arise; with restlessness as object, restlessness arises, wrong view … doubt arises; with grief as object, grief arises, wrong view … doubt … restlessness arises.
A phenomenon associated with hindrances is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from hindrances (nīvaraṇa-vippayutta) by object condition:
Noble ones (ariyā) review the abandoned defilements (kilesa) associated with hindrances; they review the defilements that have been suppressed; they know the defilements that formerly arose. One sees with insight (vipassati) the aggregates (khandha) associated with hindrances as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as non-self (anattā). By the knowledge (ñāṇa) penetrating others' minds (cetopariya-ñāṇa) one knows the mind (citta) of one possessed of a mind associated with hindrances. The aggregates associated with hindrances are a condition for the knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividha-ñāṇa), for the knowledge penetrating others' minds, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of faring according to kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), and for adverting (āvajjana), by object condition.
A phenomenon dissociated from hindrances is a condition for a phenomenon dissociated from hindrances by object condition:
A gift (dāna) … virtue (sīla) … the uposatha observance (uposathakamma) … one reviews it; deeds formerly well practiced …; having emerged from jhāna, the jhāna …; noble ones, having emerged from the path (magga), the path …, they review the fruition (phala); Nibbāna …. Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), for the path, for the fruition, and for adverting, by object condition. The eye (cakkhu) … the base (vatthu) … one sees with insight the aggregates dissociated from hindrances as impermanent, as suffering, as non-self; one sees form (rūpa) with the divine eye (dibbacakkhu), as far as adverting.
A phenomenon dissociated from hindrances is a condition for a phenomenon associated with hindrances by object condition:
A gift … virtue … the uposatha observance … formerly … from jhāna … the eye … the base … one relishes and delights in the aggregates dissociated from hindrances; with that as object, lust, wrong view, doubt, restlessness, and grief arise.
