[135] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with mind (citta-sampayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with mind by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya):
A gift … virtue … having performed the uposatha observance (uposathakamma), one reviews it, relishes it, and delights in it; taking that as object, lust (rāga) arises, grief arises. [One reviews] what was formerly well practised …; having emerged from jhāna, [one reviews] the jhāna ….
Noble ones, having emerged from the path (magga), review the path, review the fruit (phala), review the defilements (kilesa) that have been abandoned, … review the defilements that have been suppressed; they know the defilements that formerly arose habitually.
[One contemplates] the aggregates (khandhā) associated with mind as impermanent … grief arises.
With the knowledge penetrating the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa) one knows the mind (citta) of a person endowed with what is associated with mind.
The sphere of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana) is a condition for the sphere of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana); the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana), for the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana).
The aggregates associated with mind are a condition for the knowledge of supernormal powers (iddhividha-ñāṇa), for the knowledge penetrating the minds of others, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of beings' faring according to their kamma (yathākammupaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), and for adverting (āvajjana), by object condition.
A phenomenon dissociated from mind (citta-vippayutta) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with mind by object condition:
Noble ones review Nibbāna.
Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), for the path, for the fruit, and for adverting, by object condition.
[One contemplates] the eye … the base (vatthu) … the aggregates dissociated from mind as impermanent … grief arises.
One sees a form with the divine eye; one hears a sound with the divine ear element.
The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for the aggregates accompanied by eye-consciousness; the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) ….
The aggregates dissociated from mind are a condition for the knowledge of supernormal powers, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives, for the knowledge of beings' faring according to their kamma, for the knowledge of the future, and for adverting, by object condition.
