[296] Dependent on a derived phenomenon (upādā dhamma), a non-derived phenomenon (no-upādā dhamma) arises by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya): at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on the base (vatthu), the non-derived aggregates (khandhā) arise.
