[370] A clung-to (upādinna) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a clung-to phenomenon by root condition (hetu-paccaya): clung-to roots are a condition for the associated aggregates by root condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), clung-to roots are a condition for the associated aggregates and for materiality produced by kamma (kaṭattā-rūpa) by root condition.
A clung-to phenomenon is a condition for a not-clung-to (anupādinna) phenomenon by root condition: clung-to roots are a condition for mind-originated materiality (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by root condition.
