[425] Dependent on a phenomenon subject to clinging (upādāniya dhamma), a phenomenon subject to clinging arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) subject to clinging, three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise]; dependent on two aggregates … At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on the aggregates, the base (vatthu) [arises]; dependent on the base, the aggregates [arise]; [dependent on] one great essential (mahābhūta) … .
