[513] Dependent on a defiled phenomenon (saṅkiliṭṭha dhamma), a defiled phenomenon arises not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): dependent on the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), there arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
Dependent on an undefiled phenomenon (asaṅkiliṭṭha dhamma), an undefiled phenomenon arises not by root condition: dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) undefiled aggregate, there arise three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); two aggregates … rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhi), two, up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
