[594] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned by development (bhāvanā) is a condition, by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned by development: roots (hetū) to be abandoned by development are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates (khandhā).
