[799] A formless-sphere (arūpāvacara) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a formless-sphere phenomenon by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya): conascence predominance (sahajātādhipati): formless-sphere predominance is a condition for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandhā) by predominance condition.
A formless-sphere phenomenon is a condition for a non-formless-sphere (na-arūpāvacara) phenomenon by predominance condition: object predominance (ārammaṇādhipati), conascence predominance. Object predominance: having esteemed the sphere of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana), one reviews it … having esteemed the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana), one reviews it; having esteemed the formless-sphere aggregates, one relishes them and delights in them — having esteemed them, lust (rāga) arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises.
