[800] A formless-sphere (arūpāvacara) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for a formless-sphere phenomenon by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya): Each preceding set of formless-sphere aggregates (khandhā) is a condition for each succeeding set of formless-sphere aggregates by immediacy condition. A formless-sphere phenomenon is a condition for a non-formless-sphere (na-arūpāvacara) phenomenon by immediacy condition: The formless-sphere death consciousness (cuticitta) is a condition for the non-formless-sphere rebirth consciousness (upapatticitta); the formless-sphere life-continuum (bhavaṅga) for adverting (āvajjanā); the formless-sphere aggregates for non-formless-sphere emergence (vuṭṭhāna); and, for one emerging from cessation (nirodha), the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) for the attainment of fruition (phalasamāpatti) — by immediacy condition. A non-formless-sphere phenomenon is a condition for a non-formless-sphere phenomenon by immediacy condition: Each preceding set of non-formless-sphere aggregates is a condition for each succeeding set of non-formless-sphere aggregates by immediacy condition; conformity (anuloma) is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), and conformity for the attainment of fruition, by immediacy condition. A non-formless-sphere phenomenon is a condition for a formless-sphere phenomenon by immediacy condition: The non-formless-sphere death consciousness is a condition for the formless-sphere rebirth consciousness by immediacy condition; the non-formless-sphere aggregates are a condition for formless-sphere emergence by immediacy condition; the preliminary work (parikamma) for the sphere of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana) is a condition for the sphere of the infinity of space by immediacy condition; for the sphere of the infinity of consciousness (viññāṇañcāyatana) … for the sphere of nothingness (ākiñcaññāyatana) … the preliminary work for the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception is a condition for the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception by immediacy condition. … is a condition by contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya); is a condition by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya): five; is a condition by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya): two; is a condition by dependence condition (nissaya-paccaya): seven.
