[1259] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a taint (no-āsava) and is not a root (na-hetu), a phenomenon that is a taint (āsava) and is a root (hetu) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is not a taint and is not a root, a phenomenon that is a taint and is a not-root (na-hetu) arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not a taint and is not a root, a phenomenon that is a taint and is a root and a phenomenon that is a taint and is a not-root arise by root condition. Three. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not a taint and is not a not-root (na-nahetu), a phenomenon that is a taint and is a not-root arises by root condition. One.
