[1419] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not both-a-root-and-rootless (na-hetuñceva-na-ahetukañca) and is not accompanied by conflict (na-saraṇa), a phenomenon that is both a root and accompanied by roots (hetuñceva-sahetukañca) and is without conflict (araṇa) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is not both-a-root-and-rootless and is not without conflict (na-araṇa), a phenomenon that is both a root and accompanied by roots and is accompanied by conflict (saraṇa) arises by root condition.
