[105] A bhikkhu who has spread the kaṭhina takes robe-cloth (cīvara) and departs, thinking, "I will not return." When he has gone outside the boundary (sīmā), it occurs to him thus: "I will have this robe made right here." He has that robe made. For that bhikkhu the removal of the kaṭhina (kaṭhinuddhāra) is determined by the completion [of the robe].
A bhikkhu who has spread the kaṭhina takes robe-cloth and departs, thinking, "I will not return." When he has gone outside the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I will not have this robe made at all." For that bhikkhu the removal of the kaṭhina is determined by his decision.

When he has gone outside the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I will have this robe made right here." He has that robe made. While that robe is being made, it is lost. For that bhikkhu the removal of the kaṭhina is determined by the loss [of the cloth].
