[110] A bhikkhu who has spread the kaṭhina takes an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I shall not return." While he is outside the boundary (sīmā), it occurs to him thus: "I shall have this robe made right here." He has that robe made. For that bhikkhu, the removal of the kaṭhina (kaṭhinuddhāra) is determined by the finishing of the robe (niṭṭhānantika).
A bhikkhu who has spread the kaṭhina takes an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I shall not return." While he is outside the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I shall not have this robe made at all." For that bhikkhu, the removal of the kaṭhina is determined by resolution (sanniṭṭhānantika).
A bhikkhu who has spread the kaṭhina takes an unfinished robe and departs, thinking, "I shall not return." While he is outside the boundary, it occurs to him thus: "I shall have this robe made right here." He has that robe made. While that robe of his is being made, it is lost. For that bhikkhu, the removal of the kaṭhina is determined by loss (nāsanantika).
