[392] Now at that time the Venerable Udāyi, a bhikkhu, had committed one offence (āpatti) — the intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi) — concealed for two days, concealed for three days, concealed for four days, concealed for five days. He informed the bhikkhus: "Friends, I have committed one offence — the intentional emission of semen — concealed for two days, concealed for three days, concealed for four days, concealed for five days. How, then, should I proceed?" Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha grant to the bhikkhu Udāyi, for the one offence of intentional emission of semen concealed for five days, probation (parivāsa) of five days."
