[412] When he had completed the mānatta, he informed the bhikkhus: "Friends, I committed one offense (āpatti) — intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi) — concealed for five days … Having completed the mānatta, how now should I proceed?" Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha rehabilitate (abbhetu) the bhikkhu Udāyī."
