[437] When he had completed the penance (mānatta), he informed the bhikkhus: "Friends, I committed one offence (āpatti) — intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi) — concealed for a fortnight … Having completed the penance, how now should I proceed?" Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha rehabilitate (abbheti) the bhikkhu Udāyī."
