Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu Udāyī should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the senior bhikkhus, sit down squatting on his heels, raise his joined palms, and address it thus: 'Venerable sirs, I fell into one offense (āpatti) — intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi) — concealed for five days. For that one offense of intentional emission of semen, concealed for five days, I requested probation (parivāsa) of five days from the Saṅgha. While I was undergoing probation, I fell into one offense in the interim — intentional emission of semen — unconcealed. For that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed, I requested from the Saṅgha the sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana). The Saṅgha sent me back to the beginning for that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed. When I had completed probation and was deserving of mānatta, I fell into one offense in the interim — intentional emission of semen — unconcealed. For that one interim offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed, I requested from the Saṅgha the sending back to the beginning. When I had completed probation, I requested from the Saṅgha six nights' mānatta for the three offenses. The Saṅgha granted me six nights' mānatta for the three offenses.
