[442] The Saṅgha should be informed by a competent, capable bhikkhu:
"Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so has committed several saṅghādisesa offences (āpatti): one offence concealed for one day … one offence concealed for ten days. He asks the Saṅgha, for those offences, for combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) according to the measure (aggha) of that offence which was concealed for ten days. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, the Saṅgha should grant to the bhikkhu named so-and-so, for those offences, combined probation according to the measure of that offence which was concealed for ten days. This is the motion (ñatti).
"Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so has committed several saṅghādisesa offences: one offence concealed for one day … one offence concealed for ten days. He asks the Saṅgha, for those offences, for combined probation according to the measure of that offence which was concealed for ten days. The Saṅgha grants to the bhikkhu named so-and-so, for those offences, combined probation according to the measure of that offence which was concealed for ten days. Whichever venerable one approves of the granting to the bhikkhu named so-and-so, for those offences, of combined probation according to the measure of that offence which was concealed for ten days, let him remain silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak.
"A second time I state this matter … A third time I state this matter …
"Combined probation according to the measure of that offence which was concealed for ten days has been granted by the Saṅgha to the bhikkhu named so-and-so for those offences. It is approved by the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it."
