[523] Bhikkhus, here again a bhikkhu commits several offenses (āpatti) entailing a formal meeting of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa). Some offenses he remembers, some offenses he does not remember. Those offenses that he remembers, he conceals; those offenses that he does not remember, he does not conceal. Having disrobed (vibbhamitvā) and been ordained again, those offenses which formerly, remembering them, he concealed, he later, remembering them, conceals; and those offenses which formerly, not remembering them, he did not conceal, he later, remembering them, conceals. Bhikkhus, having given that bhikkhu probation (parivāsa) for the earlier and the later mass of offenses (āpattikkhandha) according as they were concealed, penance (mānatta) should be given.
