[543] Bhikkhus, here again, a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), commits in the interim several offenses (āpatti) entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa). Some offenses he remembers; some offenses he does not remember. The offenses he remembers, those offenses he conceals; the offenses he does not remember, those offenses he does not conceal. Having disrobed and been ordained again, the offenses which formerly, having remembered them, he concealed — those offenses, having remembered them afterwards, he conceals; the offenses which formerly, not having remembered them, he did not conceal — those offenses, having remembered them afterwards, he does not conceal. That bhikkhu should be sent back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassitabbo), and a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) should be given him for the offenses according as they were concealed, joined together with the former offense.
