[525] Bhikkhus, here again a bhikkhu commits several saṅghādisesa offences (āpatti): regarding some offences he is free from doubt, regarding some offences he is in doubt. Those offences about which he is free from doubt, he conceals; those offences about which he is in doubt, he does not conceal. Having disrobed, he is ordained again. Those offences which formerly, being free from doubt, he concealed—afterwards, being free from doubt, he does not conceal them; those offences which formerly, being in doubt, he did not conceal—afterwards, being free from doubt, he conceals them. Bhikkhus, having given that bhikkhu probation (parivāsa) for the earlier and the later classes of offences according as they were concealed, penance (mānatta) should be given.
