[553] "Bhikkhus, here again, a bhikkhu deserving rehabilitation (abbhāna), having committed several saṅghādisesa offences (āpatti) in the interim without concealing them, becomes a novice (sāmaṇera) … becomes insane … becomes of deranged mind (citta) … becomes afflicted by feeling (vedanā) … His offences are both concealed and unconcealed … He knows some offences, he does not know some offences … He remembers some offences, he does not remember some offences … He is free from doubt about some offences, and in doubt about some offences; those offences about which he is free from doubt he conceals, and those offences about which he is in doubt he does not conceal. He is afflicted by feeling. When he is again no longer afflicted by feeling: those offences which formerly, being free from doubt, he concealed—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he does not conceal; and those offences which formerly, being in doubt, he did not conceal—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he does not conceal … those offences which formerly, being free from doubt, he concealed—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he does not conceal; and those offences which formerly, being in doubt, he did not conceal—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he conceals … those offences which formerly, being free from doubt, he concealed—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he conceals; and those offences which formerly, being in doubt, he did not conceal—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he does not conceal … those offences which formerly, being free from doubt, he concealed—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he conceals; and those offences which formerly, being in doubt, he did not conceal—those offences afterwards, being free from doubt, he conceals. That bhikkhu should be sent back to the beginning, and combined probation (samodhāna-parivāsa) should be granted to him for his offences according as they were concealed, in combination with the earlier offence."
