Niyasakamma

[65] Bhikkhus, an act of demotion (niyassakamma) possessed of three further factors is a legitimate act (dhammakamma), an act in accordance with the discipline (vinayakamma), and one that is well settled: it is done for an offence that has not been confessed; it is done in accordance with the Dhamma; it is done by a united [Saṅgha]. Bhikkhus, an act of demotion possessed of these three factors is a legitimate act, an act in accordance with the discipline, and one that is well settled.
