[51] Now at that time bhikkhus walked for alms using a gourd-shell (tumbakaṭāha). People complained, criticized, and spread it about: "… just like the sectarians (titthiyā)." They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, one should not walk for alms using a gourd-shell. Whoever should do so commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
