[67] Now at that time, powdered grass fell down in the kaṭhina hall (kaṭhinasālā) … "Bhikkhus, I allow you, having covered it over (ogumbetvā), to have it plastered within and without; (I allow) white colouring, black colouring, treatment with red ochre (geruka), garland-work, creeper-work, the makara-tooth design (makaradantaka), the five-strip pattern (pañcapaṭṭhika), a bamboo pole for robes (cīvaravaṃsa), and a cord for robes (cīvararajju)."
