[63] Bhikkhus, as to those ascetics and brahmins who are theorists about the past (pubbantakappikā), theorists about the future (aparantakappikā), and theorists about both the past and the future, who hold views concerning the past and the future and who, with reference to the past and the future, assert various doctrinal propositions (adhimuttipadāni) on sixty-two grounds — that too is merely the feeling of those honorable ascetics and brahmins, who do not know and do not see; it is merely the agitation and vacillation of those gone over to craving (taṇhā).
