[85] Bhikkhus, as for those ascetics and brahmins who say there is life after death and who hold the doctrine of a self (attā) that is neither percipient nor non-percipient, asserting that the self after death is neither percipient nor non-percipient on eight grounds — that they should experience this apart from contact (phassa): such a thing is impossible.
