[57] Bhikkhus, as for those ascetics and brahmins who hold the doctrine of a percipient self after death, and who declare that the self is percipient after death on sixteen grounds — that too is only the feeling (vedayita) of those worthy ascetics and brahmins who do not know and do not see; it is only the agitation and vacillation of those in the grip of craving (taṇhā).
