[58] Bhikkhus, as to those ascetics and brahmins who hold that there is a self after death and assert that it is non-percipient, and who declare a non-percipient self after death on eight grounds — that too is only the felt experience (vedayitaṃ) of those honorable ascetics and brahmins who do not know and do not see; it is only the agitation and vacillation of those fallen into craving (taṇhā).
