[402] **Speaks praise** means: he extols, lauds, commends the two passages (dve magge).
**Speaks dispraise** means: he scolds, reviles, censures the two passages.
**Begs** means: (he says,) "Give to me; do give to me; you ought to give to me."
**Implores** means: (he says,) "When will your mother be favorably disposed? When will your father be favorably disposed? When will your deities be favorably disposed? When will there be a good moment, a good occasion, a good hour for you? When shall I obtain sexual intercourse with you?"
**Asks** means: (he says,) "How do you give to your husband? How do you give to your lover?"
**Asks in return** means: (he says,) "So it seems that thus you give to your husband, thus you give to your lover?"
**Explains** means: being asked, he says, "Give thus; giving thus, you will be dear and pleasing to your husband."
**Instructs** means: unasked, he says, "Give thus; giving thus, you will be dear and pleasing to your husband."
**Abuses** means: (he says,) "You are one without the mark (animittā); you are one with a mere (defective) mark; you are one without menstrual blood; you are one with constant menstrual blood; you are one who constantly wears the cloth; you are one who is constantly dripping; you are a sikharaṇī (one with protruding deformity); you are a female paṇḍaka; you are a manlike woman (vepurisikā); you are one whose passages are conjoined (sambhinnā); you are a hermaphrodite (ubhatobyañjanaka)."
