[447] A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, say to the woman of such-and-such a name, guarded by her mother: 'Be, it is said, the wife of the man of such-and-such a name — a wife by consent (chandavāsinī), a wife for the sake of wealth (bhogavāsinī), a wife for the sake of cloth (paṭavāsinī), a water-bowl wife (odapattakinī), a wife whose head-pad has been removed (obhatacumbaṭā), both a slave and a wife (dāsī ca bhariyā ca), both a servant and a wife (kammakārī ca bhariyā ca), one brought captive under the flag (dhajāhaṭā), a momentary wife (muhuttikā).'" He accepts, he inquires, he reports back: an offence of saṅghādisesa. …
